YOUR
CONNECTION
TO THE WORLD

When comparing wireless internet providers it is easy to become completely confused, but it is important to understand what makes a good provider and a good network. There are two ways to start up a wireless internet company; design and build it as a commercial quality operation, or do it as a "garage operator." This does not mean some large companies today did not start in their garage .....!

Bamboo Telecom, a registered trademark, began business in January 2001 with a thoroughly researched business plan backed by years of similar experience by our business partners in the wireless networking and internet background. To date, Bamboo Telecom's investor funded network build out has involved hundreds of thousands of Euros and continues growing.

It is possible to rent an ADSL line or two from the telephone company, have it connected at a residence just about anywhere and then connect that data line to wireless equipment that was designed for normal access points (Home or Office use and 3-500 Sq Meter Coverage), add illegal amplifiers that amplify the signal 5 to 10 times the legal limit, add an antenna and Bingo! You are a wireless internet provider.

But Bamboo Telecom's network begins at a secure datacenter facility in the Technological Park in Malaga, where we connect directly to the high speed fiber optic internet backbone (Orange and Jazztel) with over 1000 times the capacity of an ADSL line. We then transport this bandwidth over our own high capacity microwave network (SkyPilot) to redundant mountain top sites where we form a self-healing redundant mesh architecture. All of our principle sites are with battery and/or solar backup power. We also supply you, if needed, with our VOIP Solutions, of which most of the software has been developed by our in-house software programmers and is marketed to institutions such as the Technological Park of Galicia and others.  We do not use any facilities from the phone company, the "cable operator," or the satellite providers.

A critical consideration is also the depth and experience of a provider. Since the main business seems to be internet connections it would seem very logical that people with a lot of internet and computer experience would be well suited to start and operate a wireless internet company. Wrong !

The key word is "wireless." This business and technology is as much about wireless radio engineering as it is about the internet and computers. When natural or a competitor's purposely generated interference or other signal problems occur, it is critical to have the tools, knowledge and experience to quickly troubleshoot and resolve the problem. Bamboo Telecom draws on years of experience in wireless design, construction and troubleshooting in the commercial cellular and mobile radio fields. All of Bamboo Telecom's infrastructure has built-in GPS, Temperature Status, Spectrum Analyzers and troubleshooting software, built into each node that can be accessed from our NOC (Network Operating Center) in the Technological Park in Malaga.

Have you lost 600 Euros or more in the past to installation fees and still did not get connected ? Have you been paying for your monthly fees by depositing "cash" in someone's  mailbox on a gate ? When it came to canceling your contract, did you realize, that you DID NOT have a contract ?

Do you need for our installation department to come out and demo our system, so that you can see it up and running, before signing a contract ? Yes, we can ! And even when you sign our contract, you do not need to pay anything upfront !

Give us a call if you have any questions, or would like us to supply you with our company documents, authorizations and licenses from the Spanish Telecommunication Department or our clients as references.

When you look below the surface and compare the true costs of the actual service, look at the company itself and the network they are using, we believe you will find that Bamboo Telecom is the only carrier class alternative for your wireless broadband internet access.
